Research
Research in School of Architecture & Interior design is about quality, not quantity. Our objective is to create an institutional, people oriented research culture in areas such as Architectural conservation of heritage buildings, urban redevelopment and environmental planning for sustainability. We do this by creating a stimulating, constructive and supportive environment for our staff and students to undertake high quality research. We also portray the school as a center for the highest quality research and scholarship.
The School of Architecture and Interior Design has facilities to do Academic and Sponsored Research Activities. We have Full-time, part-time Ph.D. research scholars all over India working on cutting edge research topics like Artificial Intelligence, Building Acoustics, building technologies, building materials and Envelope etc under the Research Supervisor who are expertise in this domain. We have an exclusive state of art Research Groups like Architectural Heritage, Building Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Sustainability headed by a Faculty Coordinator who is specialized in the domain to carry out Collaborative Research activities in the Department. The faculty Members are working on sponsored Research Projects sanctioned by external funding agencies like UGC, COA etc. The faculty members are currently working on Collaborative Research proposals with international partners through JRS-SATU scheme and the faculty team is also working on Multidisciplinary Research Proposal by collaborating with other departments on cutting edge Research topics. Faculties have published their research outcomes in journals of repute and the students project and dissertation works are also published in reputed National and International Journals.

Center for Architectural Heritage
Initiatives have been taken to establish “Centre For Architectural Heritage” to enhance skill and knowledge of students, research scholars and professionals by identifying, studying, documenting and researching the cultural, Historical and Architectural values of Historical Buildings and thereby creating awareness among the Society to conserve and preserve the Heritage buildings. This is an interdisciplinary study and Research Center that brings together students and faculty from a variety of Academic and professional disciplines such as sociology, archaeology, Architecture etc. The main aim of the Center is to identify, document and study the Historic buildings that have significant cultural and Architectural values in order to create database and to conduct capacity building training, workshops, teaching and research to advance Heritage Studies.
